General Questions
1) Where did you grow up? Was poetry and writing part of that mix?
Paterson, NJ. Yes, was, along with other public school pupils, encouraged to write poetry.
2) Who are your poetic influences, favorite poets, writers, artwork, other
things that inform your work?
Baudelaire, Neruda, Alexiendre, Celan.
3) When did you 'become' a poet, when did poet become part of your everyday life?
When I retired in 1980 to write full time.
4) Where were you educated? Was this important?
New York University BA English, LLB Law. Yes. I don’t see that much difference between poetry and law since poets and lawyers both work with words, the better the words the greater the success.
5) What is your favorite food?
Hot soup.
6) Sports Team? or Activity?
Paddle ball.
7) Vacation spot?
East Hampton, NY. After years of summers I finally settled here.
8) Curse word?
If it counts as one, poop If I have one I instantly forget it after using it.

2) Is poetry an organic or synthetic process for you?
Not sure I understand the question. Perhaps the answer can be found at the above site.
3) Where do you write? Is Ambiance important? Do you have rituals or habits
when you write?
In coffee shops. Yes, ambiance is very important; I need noise and commotion around me. And yes again, I find discipline important that at 9 am I am at a desk
4) In the balance between found language and created language where does your work fall?
Created. Since my poetry makes its living in the unconscious I need to find words that will lure the reader down with me.
