The Discrete Series is one of Chicago's Innovative Poetic Communities main venues for poetry of the highest caliber. Over the past year they have had, Paul Hoover, Maxine Chernoff, Pierre Joris, Lewis Warsh, Cole Swenson, Jen Hofer, Kaia Sand, Arielle Greenberg, Chris Stroffolino Nic Collins, John Tipton, Kent Johnson and many other innovative poets.
